Digital Image Processing Based Modeling of Actual Coal-rock damage in Meso-scale

Digital image processing technique is introduced into actual coal-rock damage analysis and a new numerical simulation model for coal-rock damage meso-mechanical analysis is established with software VP-HybridCAD and software Pase2. Firstly,digital image process techniques are used to extract meso-structure information from coal-rock CT (Computerized Tomography) images. Secondly,meso-structure information of coal-rock is transferred to vector image by VP-HybridCAD software. Finally,image data are fed into Phase2 for numerical modelling. Using coal-rock as an example,this paper illustrates the whole process of meso-scale image processing of actual coal-rock damage and "Meso-scale CT image scanning program" software is developed. The digital image processing results indicate that digital image processing method based VP-HybridCAD and Phase2 form a reasonable method as basic vector image for analysis of meso-mechanical behavior of coal-rock in further study.
