摘要

Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) has been studiedprimarily within the context of a multilevel atomic system. We show thatEIT can occur in a two-level atomic system and can lead to strongself-action effects that are not hampered by material absorption, withimportant implications for processes such as squeezed-light generationand the propagation of optical solitons
