In this paper, the Brinkman---Forchheime extended Darcy model was used to analyze the two-dimensional laminar flow across an isothermal plate in porous medium. The mass conservation equation, momentum conservation equations were established. The equations were simplified by analyzing the order of magnitude of each item. The formulas of the velocity distributions, boundary layer thickness have been obtained approximately by use of the integration method. It was analogized to the internal laminar forced flow and heat transfer inside a tube inserted with porous medium under the condition of constant wall heat flux when the tube diameter and the velocity are relatively bigger. The temperature distribution and the convection heat transfer coefficient have been obtained. And the effective Nusselt Number defined with the fluid's effective thermal conductivity is constant.
