摘要

The histology changes observed during this 14-day swine study will help determine the mechanisms that cause variable insulin absorption from a CSII catheter into the circulation. The surrounding layer of inflammatory tissue may become a mechanical barrier that inhibits the spread of insulin into adjacent vascular tissue. Insulin molecules may be sequestered within the wound, degraded by local proteases and/or migrate upward onto the skin surface.
