A low profile dual-band co-plane microstrip/waveguide monopulse antenna is designed, manufactured and tested, which is based on the development of a new microstrip line array fed at the side and a novel compact slot patch antenna with a pair of spirals. The good results of side-lobe level and radiation efficiency are presented, which is in a similar level of single band monopulse antenna. The measured result confirms the validity of this design and this antenna meets the need of dual mode compound guidance system in future.
