Agricultural Climatic Division of Sweet Cherry Trees in Beijing Based on GIS

Sweet cherry trees (Prunus avium L.), which are the most economic benefit fruit trees in Beijing area, have been developing rapidly in recent years and the planting areas have expanded to more than 4000 ha. According to the data of climate and terrain in Beijing area and the growth characteristics of cherry trees, the precise division of climate ecological adaptability of cherry trees in whole city was studied by GIS technique. The results indicate that the suitable planting areas of trees mainly distributed in most areas of eastern and southern Beijing plain, and unsuitable planting areas mainly concentrated in the northern and western areas with higher altitudes. Determining the suitable cultivation area of cherry trees has a vital significance for establishing scientific development plan and optimizing the industrial layout of cherry trees.
