Conclusions: Our preliminary work demonstrates that solvent cast films of commercially available PNIPAm homopolymer combined with cell adhesion molecules is effective in enabling thermoresponsive detachment of definitive endoderm cells in support of proliferation and further hepatic differentiation through a multi-step protocol. These results represent an initial step toward a multifunctional and scalable biomaterial platform for stem cell culture and differentiation.
