Signal Priority Control Methods Based on Automobile Electronic Registration Identification

摘要

Development of public transport is the fundamental way to solve urban traffic congestion, and transit way priority is the key to improve bus operating speed and attract passengers. This paper compared the advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of vehicle detection technologies, put forward some signal priority control methods and different control strategies of buses based on automobile electronic registration identification with radio frequency identification technology, and built the communication mechanism between RFID reader devices and signal control machines. Through example applications of some signalized intersections in Wuxi City and Shenzhen City, experimental results show that these signal control methods can make the average delay of bus at intersections without bus-lane reduce obviously and improve transit operating efficiency.
