This paper presents a high gain, high isolation double balance (DB) Gilbert cell mixer, designed in 180nm RF CMOS process, is proposed to be suitable for WLAN communication systems at 5.2 GHZ frequency. The proposed folded Gilbert mixer employs an inductive degeneration source and a differential trans-conductance to set the better trend between linearity, port isolation, gain and noise. Simulation results reveal that at operating frequency 5.2 GHZ, the proposed mixer furnishes 9.48 dB of conversion gain and minimum value of noise figure of 8.6 dB. The 1-db compression point is 4 dBm and the LO-RF, LO-IF and RF-IF isolations are 83 dB, 80 dB and 103 dB, respectively, which ensure the enhanced port-to-port isolations and improved linearity criterion.
