Thermal power plants operate with coal, which will release huge amount of sulphur dioxide during combustion. This is the symptom for acid rain. It is also one of major composition of particulates enveloping many cities in China. Hence, use of clean energy is imperative. Power generation by green and clean energy from wind energy and solar energy, which are regenerative and pollutant free, will form intelligent microgrid for wind/photovoltaic/energy storage with battery and loads, which can be connected with main power grid as an controllable unit. Control procedures will be plotted based on research on control of batteries for energy storage units of the micro-grid, discussions on way of charging and operation of batteries, analysis of control logic for on/off grid, and value for SOC (state of charge) of batteries as basis for judgment. Interface for host computers should be designed to realize on/off control of microgrid for wind/photovoltaic/energy storage, as well as charging and feeding of batteries, thereby realizing intelligent control for energy storage. This will ensure smooth process of on/off grid while improving efficiency.
