Join my group: Evidences of Whatsapp use to run a better breakfast streetfood business

Street foods represent traditional local cultures in wide range of authentic cuisines. Frequently, various foods they offer have become cultural icons and tourist attractions. However, not all of the vendors are lucky to access the best spots on the main road and sell their food. Instead, they can go out of business fairly quick. The paper aimed to explain the advantages of Whatsapp application to improve the sale of home based morning street food (warung) business. The qualitative datas were collected through in-depth interview with the business owners, and a survey that involving 13 participants of Whatsapp group members. The findings demonstrated that the use of Whatsapp is incredibly useful to run a better and faster morning warung (street food vendors) business in three ways. First, it helps to boost awareness. Second, it opens up the two ways communication so the customers' feedback is efficiently made. Third, it helps to provide data about consumer taste, behavior, and attitude. Further, the three merits of Whatsapp use were deemed to bring positive impact to the business, i.e. to get a clear estimation for production so the risk of business lost on daily basis can be minimized. Last, suggestions for further research are proposed.
