Cultivation, Interpretation, Spiritualization and Urbanization of Indigenous and Designed (Agri)Cultural Landscape: Comparative Study on Two Cases of Paddy Field Landscape in China

摘要

This paper focuses on a specific type of Chinese agricultural landscape—paddy fields.Through comparative case studies of such landscape generated or inspired by paddy fields, one is indigenous and the other designed, on their forming, sustainability,cultural identities, relationship between human and spirits of landscape, this paper stresses sophisticated thinking of the interaction between landscape and human when landscape architects are practicing their interpretation of traditional agricultural landscape.
