2006 V 41 - A SUCROSE RICH EARLY MATURING SUGARCANE VARIETY

摘要

The early maturing sugarcane variety, 2006 V 41 was developed from a cross 81 V 48 (Co V 89101) X 89 V 74 at Sugarcane Research Station, Vuyyuru, Andhra Pradesh through various stages of selection during 2005-06 to 2011-12 seasons. It is rich in sucrose and has solid cane with small bud. It is resistant to prominent races of red rot viz., cf 419, cf 671 and cf 997 and also to smut disease. It is suitable for irrigated and waterlogged conditions which is a pre requisite for the spread of the variety in delta areas.
