Conclusions: MSCs were induced to osteoblastic cells evidenced by increased calcium surface precipitation relative to uninduced controls. This study demonstrated that chemical and bioactive glass inducers can be incorporated into matrix materials like alginate and collagen which can potentially be further developed as a tissue engineering approach for bone repair and regeneration.
