Conclusions: The results indicate that all four fibronectin coated scaffolds exhibited good viability and attachment for TgfbR2 progenitor expressing cells. In view of these promising results further work is required to demonstrate that a tendon can be successfully cultured with these scaffolds and this will lead in the future to the generation of a viable tendon/bone tissue junction.
