摘要

The satisfactory model validation showed once more the reliability of the first principles approach to model drug delivery devices. The good agreement with experimental data implies that the model is able to underline involved fundamental phenomena and their synergic effect on the final behavior of the system. Moreover, because of its effective simplicity, the model does not require a great amount of CPU resources as happens with computational expensive finite element methods-based simulations. These elements make this model a powerful tool for researchers in order to optimize an expensive and time consuming experimental activity, to perform a smart device design, and above all to obtain a better understanding of fundamental phenomena which govern the final behavior of the device.
