AN INVESTIGATION OF ACADEMIC-PRACTITIONER CO-AUTHORSHIP IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ACADEMIC JOURNALS

This research seeks to explore the extent that academics and practitioners are collaborating together in the academic publication process. A select number of peer reviewed academic journals from 2000 to 2010 with a supply chain management focus are examined for academic-practitioner co-authorship. The results of this study identified 478 of 5,196 (approximately 9.2%) academic journal articles with academic-practitioner co-authorship. Preliminary analyses of the results are presented along with suggestions for future work.
