Demotivation is a relative new issue in Chinese EFL field. Based on the findings taken from 766 university EFL learners in a 40-item questionnaire survey, this essay investigated learners' demotivating behaviors and correlated factors. Five demotivators were identified, indicating that external factors (Teachers' Competence and Teaching Styles, Curriculum and Materials, and Inadequate Facilities), combined with internal factors (Lack of Intrinsic Interest, Learning Strategies Deficiency), resulted in subjects' demotivation. External factors influenced more than internal counterparts. Teachers' Competence and Teaching Styles as well as Learning Strategies Deficiency turned out to be the most influential.
