UL2 gene from duck plague virus (DPV) encodes uraciI-DNA glycosylase (UDG). Bioinformatics analysis was performed to predict the eharacteristies of uraciIDNA glycosylase, the results indicated that UL2 gene encodes a polypeptide, molecular mass of 37.2946Kda and comprising 333 amino acids, without signal peptide and the transmembrane region. The phylogenetic tree showed that DPV-UDG was similar to some fowl herpesviruses, but clustered within a monophyletic clade. And though multiple sequence alignment, four conserved structural motifs were found. The prediction of three dimensional structure showed DPV-UDG has a homology modeling with UDG of HSV-1. The online analysis of the physico-chemical properties demonstrates this protein has thirteen antigenic determinants, eighteen functional sites. These results will provide a fundment for further biological functional study of the uraciI-DNA glycosylase and physiological features of the UL2 gene.
