A methodology was proposed to prepare highlyfunctionalized poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate)-based copolymernanoparticles by means of Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition,the so-called “click” chemistry. As a proof ofconcept, model alkynes were quantitatively linked eitherto the copolymer in homogeneous medium followed byself-assembly in aqueous solution or directly at thesurface of preformed nanoparticles in aqueous dispersedmedium.
