摘要

An inorganic, nanostructured porous matrixcomprised of nanostructured TiO2, was used to hostorganic molecules such as valproic acid and phenytoin,for use as antiepileptic drugs. The encapsulation of thesedrugs was carried out during the hydrolysis step. The drugrelease kinetics was performed under “in vitro”conditions. The materials were implanted by means ofstereotaxic surgery in Wistar rats in which epilepsy hadbeen induced. Using EEG it was observed that 96% of therats were protected through the use of the implants.
