Stochastic Capacity Analysis of Wind Farms in a Portfolio of PowerGenerating Assets

In this paper, the management and control of a system of electricity generating assets of a typical utility company isexplored with respect to the integration of wind power from a set of wind turbines. The environment for electricityproduction is examined and the wind power integration problem is identified. An optimization model is formulatedto minimize electricity generation cost based on the contribution of a set of generation assets, including wind andpurchased power.
