The supply chain of fresh agricultural products has received a great deal of attention lately due to public healthrelated issues. Something that has become apparent is that the design and operation of agricultural supply chains willbe subject to more and closer monitoring in the near future. In this presentation, we focus on the planning modelsand strategies of the supply chain of highly perishable agricultural products such as fresh produce. In particular weexplore the effect of the perishability of these products on harvesting, transportation and distribution decisions in anintegrated planning environment.
