Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M.hyo) causes Enzootic Pneumonia (EN), a contagious disease on pigs and main component of the PRDC (Porcine Respiratoiy Disease Complex) responsible for pig production inefficiency worldwide. M.hyo vaccines can reduce EN undesired effects in pig performance'1'. Nevertheless, the most convenient M.hyo vaccination timings are a continuous source of discussion in the pig farming sector. The knowledge of the age at which pigs may suffer from M.hyo infection is crucial, in order to adopt a timely vaccination schedule. Although clinical EN is more frequently noticed in growing-fattening pigs it has been observed that M.hyo infection in pigs may occur at earlier ages (5).
