Uncertainty Management of Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage: A Risk-Hedging Strategy

摘要

A risk-hedging decision maker would not introduce carbon capture and storage technology, if there exists uncertainty in CO2 leakage. Early detection of non-leakage certainty dissolves uncertain situation which has both possibilities of leakage and non-leakage. It enables CO2 storage if it is economically acceptable. Decision tree analyses are conducted under the CO2 emission constraints. Early introduction of CO2 capture and storage technology after resolving the uncertainty will cut the economic burden of achieving a given emission target.
