The activated carbons have been prepared from different biomass materials, such as wood scraps, palm seeds, corn cob andstalk, by steam activation at the temperature of 650°C~950°C. The activated carbons prepared from different biomassmaterials exhibit a different pore structure and adsorption properties. The activation temperature in steam has a strong effecton development of microspore structure of activated carbons. A higher activation temperature, such as 850°C~950°C, willbenefit to prepare an activated carbon with the abundant micro and mesopore structure and high adsorptive properties.
