A series of novel hydrogels was designed forcontrolled release of hydrophilic model drugs withdifferent molar masses. The hydrogels werethermoresponsive and hydrolytically degradable. Themodel drugs, methylene blue or bovine serum albumin(BSA) were loaded into the hydrogels during the organicsolvent-free synthesis process. In vitro drug releasekinetics was strongly dependent on environmentaltemperature, hydrogel chemical compositions, andinteractions between drugs and polymers.
