This paper explores affective responses of employees to an organizational buyout offer.Environmental factors and individual differences are proposed to influence how employeesperceive a buyout offer. Personality variables such as work attitudes and behaviors andenvironmental cues that help employees to interpret and respond to buyout offers are discussed.
