摘要

The elastic behavior of the laser host crystal BaY_2F_8 doped with Tm and Dy has been investigated in the temperature range 288-308 K by using the ultrasonic pulse echo-overlap technique. Twelve propagation modes have been examined, which allowed the determination of 10 of the 13 independent elastic stiffness tensor components C_(ij) characterizing the monoclinic crystal lattice of BaY_2F_8.
