摘要

A novel method for the direct determination of trace amounts of rare earth elements in high purity and refractory materials using slurry sampling/fluorination assisted electrothermal vaporization/ICP-AES was developed. The polytetraflu-oroethylene (PTFE) emulsion was used as fluorinating reagent to form volatile fluorides rather than corresponding refractory carbides. The main factors affecting analytical signals were investigated systematically. In the presence of PTFE the interference of matrix could be minimized. The proposed approach has been applied to directly analyse high purity rare earth oxides and refractory metal oxides without any chemical pretreatment.
