The paper analyses methods developed to increase directional warhead performance. Two main factors that affect the performance are formulated and used for warhead initiation to increase efficiency. Influence of fracture on the warhead performance was studied using LS-DYNA2D. The principles developed were confirmed with LS-DYNA3D hydrocode calculations. Experimental verification of the principles has also been conducted.
