摘要

Testing was conducted on a proposed alternative to the ablative coating currently utilized on Navy general-purpose bomb bodies. The testing included both primers that are referenced on the applicable NAVAIR drawings, as well as the current ablative and proposed alternative. Although the alternative coating fared well in some of the tests, this formulation could not be recommended due to less than optimal results in the areas of dry-time, hardness and adhesion.
