Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is to visualize the distribution of electrical impedance (or conductivity) within an object, such as a human body. The number of the electrodes are placed over the exterior surface, by applying electrical currents to a pair of the electrodes chosen and measuring the voltages developed over the surface on the rest of the electrodes. It is possible to reconstruct the electrical property distribution inside the object. We here present the data acquisition system for EIT, which is an integrated system to measure the self and trans-impedances between the electrodes. In this paper, we discuss the experimental methods for the static imaging reconstruction using the dual reciprocity algorithm based on boundary element modeling.
