摘要

Absorption efficiency of an ultra short pulse laser irradiated target is investigated using a hybrid one-dimensional electromagnetic particle-in-cell method, which employs Langevin equation to account for the effect of collisions. Effect of production of fast electrons and ionization on the absorption and heat transfer are analyzed. The method is useful for determination of the initial condition of the plasma, which is used as the gain medium of X-ray lasers pumped by short pulse lasers.
