A new copperiobium microscomposite conductor exhibiting high mechanical strength and high electrical conductivity was evaluated. This has been developed by Hitachi Cable CO. Ltd. for high magnetic field applications. The conductor is constituted of a copper-matrix and many copperiobium microcomposite filaments. The microscomposite filaments were fabricated through a jelly-roll process.
