In the experiment of the antenna assembling mechanism (AAM) which is one of experiments of Communications Research Lab.(CRL) using the space robot of Engineering Test Satellite VII (ETS-VII), we have used an Audio Feedback System (AFS) to reduce loads on operators for safety and reliability teleopera-tion. This system converts parts of the telemetry information of space robots and/or other equipment into auditory information (motorized sound and prerecorded voice). We assessed the effectiveness of AFS by using eye mark recorder (EMR), which precisely records an operator's eye movements. In this paper we report results of effectiveness of AFS for three Monitors who checks telemetry indicated on the status display during the experiment of grapple motion. Monitors consist of an astronaut, expert operator of this system, and nonexpert operator. From results of experiment, we found that AFS is a powerful tool to help operators make decisions and will therefore help to prevent accidents during space robot teleoperation.
