Three of Western Union's value-added services, EasyLink, FYI and Teletex are discussed.EasyLink and Teletex services will be covered in terms of how they enable subscribers to access other terminals and computers both domestically and worldwide. EasyLink, in particular, will be discussed with regard to how subscribers can reach Telex Ⅰ and Telex Ⅱ,as well as virtually all types of communicating word processors, personal computers and computer mainframes. FYI is a computerized database that offers subject categories accessed by various terminals such as EasyLink, Telex Ⅰ and Telex Ⅱ. The three value-added services,are further discussed with regard to how they are integrated, in turn, into an overall packet-switched network that will enable any subscriber to access virtually any other terminal regardless of its transmission speed or protocol requirements.
