摘要

A recently proposed numerical method, known as the cell method, is adopted for solving, in the time-domain, transient electromagnetic problems associated with structures of any shape. The method is direct and explicit time marching, employs naturally unstructured mesh and it is well-suited to study complex electromagnetic wave interactions. The numerical capabilities of the method are investigated throughout the paper and two dimensional electromagnetic scattering problems are solved in order to assess its superior performances with respect to the classical finite difference time domain method.
