Parallel Microprocessor Architecture as Building Block Module for Implementation of Static Connected MIMDs: Architectural Design of Building Block Module
The development of a multiprocessor chip design based upon the Building Block concept which enables the implementation of various static connected multiprocessor topologies. The chip is designed such that each processor node is internally connected and associated with an adjacent processor node. Each processor node has its own external communication paths. This feature allows the individual processor nodes connection to external I/O peripherals/devices or to another multiprocessor chip for the implementation of any given multiprocessor task.
