40 Gbit/s all-optical 2R regeneration in an SOA-based all-active Mach-Zehnder interferometer

All-optical 2R regeneration, with wavelength conversion, at 40 Gbit/s is demonstrated in an all-active Mach-Zehnder interferometer showing the capability of improving the signal-to-noise ratio by more than 20 dB.
