This study is a kinematic analysis of the joints of the rearfoot using two kinematic measurement techniques. An unembalmed cadaver foot and ankle was examined using external motion analysis and three-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (3D MRI). The authors found a net of 30/spl deg/ of motion at the subtalar joint as the foot moved from 20/spl deg/ of pronation to 50/spl deg/ of supination. They also measured 30/spl deg/ of relative motion between the talus and navicular and 10/spl deg/ between the calcaneus and cuboid.
