摘要

The authors explain precisely the idea of the capture-recapture process for software faults in the context of a proposed testing environment and introduce the least square method into the model to estimate the parameter values of the HDGM. For real observed data collected during the service-operational phase, the authors show the applicability of the HGDM in estimating the degree of unavailability of a software system in operation (service). Furthermore, the estimated probability of discovering zero faults as service-operation proceeds can be taken as a reliability measure.
