Software technology in intelligent FA/CIM and its applications to production system design

摘要

Software technology for factory automation is discussed. With the trend toward intelligent factory automation, it is important to integrate three types of technology: the extension of existing approaches, new programming technology using artificial intelligence, and simulation technology. Two application examples of integrated technology are presented. One is the use of a multiobjective evaluation expert system in flow-type production-line design. The other is a hybrid FMS (flexible manufacturing systems) design system including a simulator and expert system.
