Intelligent Optical Backplanes

摘要

This paper will describe three intelligent optical backplanes designs based on the smart pixel technology and free-space optical interconnects. The applications to be discussed include a dynamically reconfigurable backplane, a space-division switching fabric, and a packet-based switching fabric.
