An Empirical Study On Perceived Effect Of Chinese Cultural Soft Power

摘要

The study aimed at exploring the foreigners' perception on resources of Chinese culture soft power. Based on the extensive review of relevant literatures, this study conducted a case study of foreigners in China to attempt to learn about the current situation of culture soft power of China. Two factors are extracted from 13 perception items regarding the culture soft power of China, including "influences of overseas Chinese" and "influences of cultural boutique". Then the respondents are classified into three categories: "cultural boutique influence concerned group", "moderate concerned group" and "overseas Chinese influence concerned group". Combined with their demographic characteristics, perception differences are found out among these three groups. Consequently, different strategies should be made to meet different foreigners' demands. Finally, the results of this investigation are hopefully to provide some scientific references for the future development of culture soft power in China.
