This work contains a brief study of a new structure of a low-pass filter of Nth order, operating in low frequencies. The low-pass filter is designed with CMOS technology and biased to work in weak inversion. The dimension of the lay-out of the circuit and very low power consumption enables this new structure be integrated in a single chip. The parameter n, dependent of the fabrication process, is discussed. Together with the project of the low-pass filter of Nth order, this work presents a development of a mathematical tool, including graphs, to design the required characteristic of the filter. Circuit analysis and simulations were performed showing the feasibility of the new structure of low-pass filter proposed. The application of the proposed circuit includes medical electronics devices.
