A general assumptions exists that anthropogenic noise is harmful for animals, especially songbirds. Although noise canaffect the biology of birds mmany ways, population level effects would be the most critical. This research did not find thatnoise had a detrimental affect on the reproductive biology of the zebra finch. Neither a dose-response relationship nor aresponse threshold exists between exposure to simulated highway noise at 45.55, 65.75, 85, and 95 dBA and eitherattempts at nesting or reproduction the zebra finch under these conditions.
