12th International Workshop on Juris-Informatics (JURISIN 2018)

Juris-informatics is a new research area which studies legal issues from the perspective of informatics. The purpose of the International Workshop on Jurisinformatics (JURISIN) is to discuss both the fundamental and practical issues among people from the various backgrounds such as law, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and philosophy, including the conventional 'AI and law' area. JURISIN 2018 was held in the International Symposia on AI by Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI-isAI). JURISIN 2018 is two-day workshop consisting of the ordinal JURISIN session and COLIEE session. COLIEE, held since 2015, stands for the Competition on Legal Information Extraction/Entailment, and consists of the following tasks: 1. The legal case retrieval task 2. The legal case entailment task 3. The statute law retrieval task 4. The legal question answering data corpus
