Field experiments were conducted during two consecutive years 1998-2000 on a sugarcane variety Co 86032 cultivated under medium black soil. The various treatments were application of recommended doses of chemical fertilizers (RD) with and without phosphorus, RD alongwith foliar application of phosphorus @ 8 and 12 kg/ha, 1% Boron, 0.5% of iron and zinc and 2% silicon at 120 days after planting. Pooled results for two years indicated that application of recommended doses of N, P and K fertilizers at appropriate time and one spray of P @ 12 kg/ha increased the cane and sugar yield by 16.97 t/ha and 3.49 t/ ha respectively over the control (115.77 t/ha and 15.84 t/ha respectively). The foliar application of micro nutrients with application of RD recorded statistically on par rise in case of plant population, cane yield and significant increase in the sugar yield as compared to control.
