To increase the profit margin in industrial processes, it is not enough to manufacture a high volume of production and to have a high price to guarantee a high revenue. It is also necessary to reduce production costs and waste to seek excellence in the extremely competitive market and ensure survival to competitors. The process of Filtration by rotary disc filters in Pelletizing plants is generally the third largest consumer of electricity. Liquid ring vacuum pumps are responsible for more than 70% of this high consumption. The efficiency of a vacuum pump and the filtration process are directly associated with the proper functioning of the pumps and for this it is necessary to guarantee the adequate working parameters to provide the best possible performance. In most Filtering processes, there are no basic instruments for monitoring the operating conditions of the vacuum pumps. In this way, this work aims not only to describe the best conditions to increase performance in liquid ring vacuum pumps, but also proposes the necessary instruments and controls to guarantee the functional and energetic efficiency of these equipments.
